Welcome to BACIC

Our goal is to raise community awareness about Arizona’s alcohol industry, promote the safe and legal use of alcoholic beverages, and prevent underage drinking. We are committed to working with our alcohol suppliers and retailers to ensure that minors do not have access to alcohol and that all sales follow Arizona’s liquor laws and local regulations. Retailers play an essential role in carding customers, training staff, and partnering with law enforcement and community organizations to keep alcohol out of the hands of underage individuals.

BACIC is a council comprised of organizations and trade groups. The Council seeks to promote community awareness and information about issues in our Arizona related to the beverage alcohol industry, to ensure responsible and lawful consumption of alcoholic beverages.  BACIC supports well-designed and effective public policies that advance this mission without unreasonably restricting the options of those consumers who choose to enjoy alcohol beverages responsibly and in moderation or adversely affecting the economic vitality of our Arizona.

BACIC seeks to ensure that underage persons do not consume alcoholic beverages and impress upon adults the importance of treating alcohol products responsibly .

Arizona’s beverage alcohol industry is at the forefront of
promoting responsible consumption

  • Government data shows that underage drinking is at historic lows
  • Underage drinking rates in 8th, 10th & 12th at lowest since Monitoring the Future survey begain in 1975
  • Binge drinking also fell in all three of those grades, lowest for 8th & 12th grades.
  • Total number of drunk driving fatalities are at historic lows.
